MINTUES FEBRUARY 11, 2010
Ron Wiley is a new business and gave us $100.00.
We are going to cancel the Fun Rally.
We may need to do trail work where Todd got stuck. Carl cut a tree down to reroute the trail onto higher ground. He also checked the beaver bog and he put signs up. This trail may need to be moved. Alan will talk to property owners to see about moving this trail. Still need to do something with the water hole. Maybe reroute the water to one area.
We will put on a spaghetti dinner to raise some money to make up for the rally. We decided to do it the weekend of Maple Sunday. We will do it on Saturday nigh before and we will talk to the fire department to see about splitting the advertising costs. The regular club meeting will be held right after the dinner.
Truck repairs that need to be done. The battery does not stay charged, brakes, power steering, rear springs. Need to get it down to Alan’s so he can take a closer look.
The capitol grant we got locks us in for four years so we have to hold on to the truck. After that then we can either sell, up grade or hold onto it.
There is a groomer day coming and it shows new equipment for grooming.
Scott Ramsey – Talked to Glenn about the RTP grant. The deadline is in October. This grant is for existing trails and new trails. We can use it for a contractor that comes in and mileage and any building of trails. Glenn is in the process of applying.
There is a municipal grant that Glenn is trying to get someone with us for like Baldwin and Standish.
The Trail grant we apply for in April and receive the money in May. We got $3500.00 last year.
March 27th we will be having a spaghetti dinner. We will serve spaghetti, meat balls, garlic bread and a garden salad. Have Heidi email all members to ask for help. Set up begins at 4:00pm and dinner will be served from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. Our regular meeting will take place right after any clean up that needs to be done. Glenn will talk to Phil from the fire department to see about sharing advertising space in the Shoppers Guide and the Bridgton News. Also look into putting it up on the marquee in town.
Trail maintenance and trail grooming forms need to be turned into Glenn so he can get started on getting the information together to file.
Bare Bones restaurant was suggested for May’s club night out. It is in
Ed will be retiring in June from MSA. The club would like to find someone to replace him.
The club owns a 500 gallon gas tank. It was suggested that we go to a smaller tank so we can start with fresh gas each year. Carl knows all the specifics on this tank.
Nominations will need to be done in March and elections in April.
The groomer that Todd had needs a lot of work. Alan has looked over the trick and this is some of what is wrong. He also took photos to have documentation. The rear brakes were disconnected, anti lock brakes light stays on, emergence brake was cut, track was welded to the legs which made them not square with the hub and made it pigeon toed, power steering leaking, power steering pump leaking, power cable to groomer is hanging, springs are messed up, wipers gone, wipers motor doesn’t work right all the time, tracks have holes and tears, rear light is missing, lower front ball joint is bad, no grease on or in anything, drag link is bad, transmission needs to be looked at, all grease-oils and fluids need to be changed. Alan is going to move the lights from down below to up top so there will be more light to see the drag and everything else in the back. He has done some work like replacing hoses and other minor things that has added up to $195.00 and he has made this as a donation to the club. He also suggested to have someone like Rick Rivard or someone that has a computer to hook up to the truck and help us go through the truck and let us know everything that needs to be fixed and we will do as much as we can and what we can’t have the mechanic do the work. Also have the blazer looked at and try to have both groomer 100% ready for next year. Alan has offered to look at the blazer to see what might need to be done. Alan may try to make a smaller drag for the truck to use when we get a little snow. This drag will be smaller and lighter.
